She is extremely anxious on walks and highly reactive to other dogs. I live in the suburbs and she has a barking fit every time she sees or smells another dog in the neighborhood. I got her from the shelter in July, she had been returned already for snapping at a toddler. I have been working with a trainer at the shelter, and have started her on Fluoxetine (Prozac) which has helped. However she will need far more work with training, maybe different medication.
Meet Porsche: she is so sweet, and extremely smart. She is great with people she knows- will lean up against them and urge to be pet. Even in rough play/tug of war, she has never accidentally bitten me. Does not resource guard- has no issue with you taking away a toy or touching her food while she's eating. Has actually never growled at me once. She will follow you anywhere. She learned how to lie down in an hour, is very receptive to training in a calm state without external stimuli.
