Howdy is a sweet middle aged dude who was surrendered to the county shelter in poor condition. Despite the neglect he endured, this cutie still loves humans and wants to be involved in everything you do! He is thriving in foster and we are excited to get him into his furever home! Howdy will be about 20 lbs at his ideal weight, but he's got long lanky legs like an italian greyhound! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Start by filling out the adoption application on our website. Once we approve it, you can meet the animal and if everything is a good fit, you will complete the contract, pay and take the animal home! We are always here to support you after the adoption with any questions or concerns.

Go meet their pets

We hold dog adoption events every Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm at the Grand Junction Chow Down or special locations for dogs and puppies. Cats and kittens can be seen by appointment or at special events. Please check our calendar for upcoming events. https://grandrivershumane.com/event-calendar/

All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services. We are a foster based humane society and do not have a physical location.
