Vixen arrived at BENCHS with her five beautiful puppies, and she has been nothing short of an exceptional mother. Now that her babies are starting to wean, Vixen is finally ready to focus on her next chapter — finding a safe, loving home of her own.
At 48 pounds, Vixen is a perfect medium-large size with a lower-shed coat and the sweetest, softest expression. We aren’t sure of her breed mix, but whatever she is, she’s all heart.
Vixen has lived with other dogs before and would likely enjoy sharing her home with a friendly, social canine companion. Her history with cats is unknown. With people, Vixen tends to be shy at first; she needs a little patience and a gentle approach before she feels safe. But once she warms up, she shows her tender, loyal nature.
Calm, observant, and incredibly attentive, Vixen poured her whole heart into raising her puppies. Now it’s her turn to be cared for, supported, and cherished.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
During open adoption hours. Thur/Friday 3-7 Sat 2-6
Dogs by appointment only with an approved application

Meet the Pet
Dog_meet and greet will be scheduled by BENCHS.
Cat_ if approved. Interact with cats and pick one

Sign Adoption Contract
place a hold on animal you want or able to plan a scheduled pick up date

Pay Fee
This fee may allow you to take the animal home same day if completely vetted. Can put a hold on animal. Scheduled pick up time from BENCHS

Take the Pet Home
Once animal is ready to go and all fees are paid, come prepared with pet carrier or leash/harness

We serve Southern MN to help with owner surrenders, stray and unclaimed animals at local impounds.
BENCHS also offers a Food Share Program to help families keep their pets in their homes if they are going through a temporary hardship. As long as we have available donated food, we can have these families come in 2x a month. We may require animals be on a plan to be spay/neutered to receive this help.
