My story

Meet Cookie!
Cookie is a 1–2-year-old Heeler/Pit mix who’s sweet, playful, and super cuddly. She’s 35 lbs, spayed, crate trained, housebroken, and great with dogs, cats, and adults!

Cookie does have separation anxiety and can be a startle biter when woken suddenly, so she’s best in a home without young kids or with someone who can give her space while she sleeps. Because Cookie startles easily when she’s sleeping, she has had two sleep-startle bite/nips involving the children in her home. For this reason, she would do best in a home where kids are not present. She’s not aggressive, just a nervous sleeper who needs a home that understands her boundaries.

She’s lived with other pets, isn’t destructive, and comes with her crate. Cookie just wants a loving, patient home to help her feel safe.

Interested in giving Cookie her forever home?

NOT Good with kids. Good with adults, dogs, and cats. Housebroken and crate trained.

Cookie is not in the care of TDR. To apply go to www.tireddogrescue.org

Additional adoption info

Our fees range from 75.00 to 450.00 depending on the age of the dog. They must submit an application and if the application sounds good then a home visit will be set up. We are very strict about what we look for on the home visit. If app and home visit are approved then we bring the dog for a meet and greet. All dogs are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and healthy before adoption. I do ask that the family update us frequently on the dog as we like to keep up with each and every pet we adopt out.

More about this rescue

We LOVE dogs! We wish that we could help more than we do and hopefully someday we will expand and be able to do much more in our community to rescue and train dogs for placement and to educate the community about the importance of spay and neutering their pets and recruit more people to lend a hand.
