Meet Wiley 🐾🧡 This 8-year-old sweetheart weighs just 8.2 lbs and was found as a stray, but he’s quickly proven himself to be a gentle, loving companion. Wiley has done beautifully around other small dogs and greets everyone with quiet kindness.
He’s had a dental cleaning and does have a cataract—just one of those signs of graceful aging—but otherwise, our vets found no major concerns. He’ll need a standard neuter, another dental, and a good grooming session, but he’s in great shape and ready to find a cozy home to call his own 🩺✨
Wiley’s adoption fee is $300, though we’re happy to be flexible given his senior status. What matters most is finding someone who sees the beauty in his calm spirit and is ready to offer him the love and comfort he deserves in his golden years 🐶💕
We want every animal in our care to begin their next chapter in the best possible health, so when you adopt from us, you can expect (ALL is already done):
Spay/neuter surgery
Microchip placement
All core vaccinations
Blood and fecal testing and treatment as needed
Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
A complimentary wellness exam 7–10 days after adoption
Please note: because we don’t observe our animals in home environments, we can’t guarantee they are housebroken. Adopters must be 21 or older and live within an hour of our facility.
Do you have any questions or would you like to set an appointment for a meet and greet?

Our adoption fees for adult dogs start at $300, though could be higher based on adoption demand and medical costs. Our adoption fees for puppies start at $400, though could be higher based on adoption demand, and includes 4 veterinary visits to update vaccines and perform spay/neuter. Some dogs have higher adoption fees because of adoption interest
Our shelter mission focuses on medical and behavioral rehab cases, so our adoption fees never cover our costs.
We have an adoption application for dogs and cats and will check a vet reference as well as information regarding your home situation and pet compatibility.
Some adoptions will require a home visit.

More about this shelter
Animal Hope opened its doors as a standalone shelter on February 1, 2015.
Prior to that, Animal Hope operated as a small rescue at Animal Hospital Southwest. As the municipal veterinarian for the city of Fort Worth, Animal Hospital Southwest frequently pulled difficult cases that the city was not equipped to treat and rehabilitate due to budgetary and time constraints.
From this organization was born the Animal Hope shelter, a rescue focusing on rehabilitation and “second chance” adoptions.
