Meet Mystery, a sweet and playful 1-year-old mixed breed who traveled all the way from Alabama in hopes of finding her forever family. She has a gentle, affectionate nature and is always happy to make new friends.
Since arriving here, Mystery has been a little nervous with all the new sights and sounds, but she warms up quickly once she feels safe. Give her a moment and you’ll see her bright, social personality shine through. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy in her new home.
If you’re looking for a young, loving dog who’s ready to blossom with a patient and caring adopter, Mystery may be the perfect match. She can’t wait to start her next chapter with someone who’ll love her as much as she’ll love them.
Ready to Adopt?
You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter.
(Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events.

All adult dog adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies and kennel cough vaccinations
- heartworm test
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
-treatment of fleas & ticks
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
