Churro is a 5-year-old, 50 lb Bulldog with a big squishy face and an even bigger heart. This lovable boy has been patiently waiting far longer than he should for a family to call his own, and we can’t understand why—he’s truly one of the nicest dogs you’ll ever meet.
Churro is calm, friendly, and incredibly easygoing. He adores kids and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him a fantastic companion for families or anyone looking to add a gentle, well-mannered pup to their home. Adoptions fees are $ 300.00 for adult dogs and puppies, $ 110.00 for cats or kittens. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Vaccinations are given up to date, dogs are tested for heart worm and tick borne diseases and cats for feline leukemia/Aids. All animals are tested for parasites and treated accordingly. All are micro-chipped. A physical visit is required for adoption, To obtain information on any pet e-mail info@kentanimalshelter.com.

The shelter is located on eastern Long Island on the scenic North Fork. The physical address is 2259 River Rd., Calverton, N.Y. 11933, however, a building/renovation project is underway. Our current location to view adoptable dogs is the BideaWee Home shelter located at 118 Old Country Rd. in Westhampton, N.Y. for the next 6-8 months. The cattery and low cost spay/neuter clinic are in full operation during construction at the River Rd., Calverton facility.The shelter is open daily 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. All pets can be viewed during those hours or online at www.kentanimalshelter.com.

We are a no-kill shelter and operate on donations from private individuals and foundations.
