My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Simba! This sweet and friendly boy had a difficult start to his life, but luckily he was trapped and brought to TCR along with other cats from a large colony. Once he came indoors, he realized how lucky he is and has no interest in returning to the outdoors.

Simba is a social, playful, silly boy and has really blossomed in his foster home. He has the sweetest purr and purrs when he is pet, when he eats, when he plays with toys and when he wrestles with his foster brother, Beau. He also loves belly rubs and will lift his leg so you can reach his favorite spot. He is very calm and happy lounging in his cat tree. He especially loves wand toys and it is not unusual to see him leaping through the air in search of an elusive "bird". Simba loves to snuggle with his humans, but being picked up still makes him a bit nervous.

Simba loves playing with other cats, especially his foster brother, Beau. He would love to go home with Beau or to a home with a friendly resident kitty. He makes friends very quickly. He also loves humans (especially if they bring churus). In foster, he was exposed to children and really loved when they read to him. He has not met a dog, but it seems that he could potentially get along with a cat-savvy pup after proper and slow introductions.

Simba is estimated to be about almost eight months old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Please apply for Simba today - we suspect that you will fall in love with this perfect gentleman.

**Please note: Simba came from an area with many other cats, and where some cats were known to be FeLV+. Simba tested FeLV- on IDEXX snap testing here at TCR (twice!), but to be extra cautious, his future adopters may want to consider having him retested in the future, and/or having any resident cats FeLV vaccinated.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
