William is a cute four month old male kitten who needs a home with another energetic young cat. Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him:

How would you describe the cat's general personality?

He loves to play with my younger cats and is a beautiful, sweet little baby. William has been making a lot of progress with being held, but he's still a little shy.

Does the cat enjoy being pet?

He lets me pet him pretty easily. William mostly doesn’t run away when we approach him, he starts purring and actually seems to enjoy being held. He used to be terrified of all human touch, so I'm confident he will continue making progress, and may be a lap kitty one day!

If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?

William enjoys his ears being rubbed, and his back/ neck being petted. He flinches a bit when you go towards his face, but once he realizes you're just petting him, he actually leans into it & purrs.

Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?

William seems to enjoy every area once he's chilled out and knows he's safe on my lap.

Does the cat come on your lap?

Not really.

Does the cat like to be held?

William kinda succumbs to being held. I’ve managed to hold William easier when I’ve sprayed catnip spray on my hands.

Does the cat sleep in your bed?

Occasionally William will join my cat crew on the bed and gets pretty comfortable. But he doesn't necessarily sleep with us at night.

Does the cat seek your attention?

He follows me in the bathroom and asks for food, but he doesn’t really seek me out.

Does the cat like to play?

He’s sooo playful with other young cats. They would do wonderfully with another playful kitty, I think.

What are the cat's favorite games and toys?

He loves a particular round scratcher that has a light up ball in it, and loves climbing my various cat towers.

How vocal is the cat?

William has basically never made a noise beyond purring.

What kinds of sounds does the cat make?

William doesn't make much sound.

Does the cat scratch a scratcher?

If no, please explain.

Yes, he loves our sisal scratch towers and a small scratcher ball toy thing.

Does the cat always use the litter box?

If no, please explain.

He’s been SOOO good with the litter box. No accidents at all.

What food and frequency is the cat currently eating?

Is the cat picky about food?

He’s not picky in the slightest. He'll eat anything lol. He’s currently eat fancy feast wet pate, and various kitten dry foods.

What is the cat's favorite treat?

William loves churus so much, and they seem to make him trust us more.

Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?

Never, he’s very submissive once we can grab him. He just kinda melts and give up fighting,  lol.

Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?

Again, never.

Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?

No never.

Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?

Nope.

To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?

He isn’t super welcoming but I have confidence he will learn and adapt.

If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on?

He looooves other cats and is very interested in my dog. He really wants other animals to be his friends and it's so cute.

Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?

He’s a goofy little baby. He’s so cute and his fur is very thick and soft.

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?

Anyone with patience who wants a gorgeous kitty should consider thus boy. He’s soooo pretty, he just needs a patient owner who will help him continue to break out of his shell further. I have the utmost confidence he will eventually be such a wonderful little love.

What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?

He is still a bit shy, but he shows so many signs that he can one day be an adorable,  playful baby. Interacting with my cats has really helped, along with patience and love.
