My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cassiopeia, the tiny celestial queen who's here to rule your home, your heart, and probably your laundry basket.

At first, this beautiful calico kitten may act like a shy little constellation - pretty to look at, but keeping her distance while she studies your every move. But don't be fooled. Give her a little time and BOOM - she transforms into a full-blown supernova of curiosity and playfulness.

Cassiopeia loves exploring new corners, investigating mysterious "crinkly things" and pouncing on imaginary foes with the enthusiasm of a kitten who takes her job very seriously. Toys? She'll try them all. Cardboard boxes? They're her galaxies to conquer. Your shoelaces? Clearly cosmic serpents that must be subdued.

If you want a kitten who starts off sweet and reserved but soon becomes your comedic sidekick and fearless explorer, Cassiopeia is ready to light up your universe.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
