My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Artemis, goddess of the moon! Surrendered due to allergies, she`s an absolutely beautiful girl who loves treats and attention. Affectionate and cuddly, she wants to be where the people are and can often be found nearby. In the past, Artemis has been happiest in quieter homes without young children or other cats and dogs, as she tends to hide when small kids and other animals are around. If you let her make the first move, she rapidly transforms into a complete sweetheart, but busy environments leave her a little bit on edge. She`s also looking for a home that can help her with her weight loss journey, as unfortunately she is overweight. Reaching a healthy weight will help protect her joints and organs and keep her feeling happy and playful for a long time to come! If you have a quieter home where Artemis can reign as the goddess she is, then reach out to CHS today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
