Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐶Meet Sammy!
Intake date:09/02/25
Sammy is a 7-month-old neutered male Pit Bull mix who has spent nearly his entire life growing up in the shelter. This sweet, energetic boy is more than ready to experience the world outside of a kennel and finally learn what it means to be part of a loving family.
Sammy is bright, affectionate, and eager to please, but because he hasn’t had the chance to live in a home yet, he’ll benefit from basic obedience training and a patient owner who understands that he has spent almost half his life in a kennel. With consistency and positive guidance, he’s sure to thrive.
At this time, Sammy would do best in a home without young children. He’s high-energy and may accidentally knock over a small child or play-nip when he gets excited. With maturity and training, he may do well with kids in the future, but for now an adults-only or older-teen household would be ideal.
Cats are not recommended for Sammy.
Sammy does well with some dogs but not all, so slow, proper introductions are important to set him up for success.
What Sammy needs most is a patient, understanding adopter—someone who sees the potential in a dog who’s never had a real chance. Given time to decompress, structure, and a whole lot of love, Sammy will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion.
If you’re ready to give a deserving young dog a fresh start, Sammy is waiting with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.
