My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alabama is a gorgeous grey cat with a gentle heart and the sweetest personality. She recently came to us after her owner could no longer care for her, and now she's ready to find a loving forever home.

Alabama has lived with other cats her entire life, so she's comfortable and calm around feline friends. Her soft, easygoing nature makes her a wonderful companion-she's gentle, affectionate, and always happy to receive a bit of love.

If you're looking for a sweet, gentle soul to bring warmth and companionship into your home, Alabama may be the perfect match. Come meet this beautiful girl and let her steal your heart!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
