I found Maple in my parking lot of my apartment, lost, collar on, and scared. I took her to our local shelter where she went unclaimed for a week and didn’t want her to get put down so I decided to adopt her to give it a shot with her and my senior dog. My senior dog has been the only dog since I’ve had him so he’s not a fan and isn’t particularly playful with other dogs, and she’s high energy since she’s a puppy so they’re not getting along. (Let me emphasize she’s not the problem, my senior dog is). I work 12 hour shifts for 3-5 days at a time, so when I’m on schedule for work I leave them with my mom. My senior dog is obviously more calm and house trained and easier to take care of, but it’s a lot on her to be helping raise a puppy. And Maple deserves a home where she can burn the energy she needs to and play as much as she wants, but sadly our home just isn’t the right fit. She’s an absolute sweetheart and I don’t want to rehome her but I have to do what’s best for her.
