My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miso, the adorable creamy-white boy with an abundance of love to give. At just 8-10 weeks old and under 5 pounds, he's a tiny bundle of joy with a remarkable spirit.

Despite a rough start involving starvation and neglect, Miso has shown incredible resilience and a courageous, open heart. He’s now a picture of health, full of happy curiosity and energy. He loves to pounce on his toys, explore his surroundings, and most of all, clamber onto any available lap for a snuggle.

Miso is expected to remain small, likely topping out around 10-15 pounds. His bright eyes see the world as a place of wonder, and he’s ready to bring his complete devotion and abundance of joy to his forever home.

His adoption fee covers all initial care, including puppy shots, rabies vaccination, deworming, and his neuter surgery when he's 6 months old. While Hedgesville Hounds prefers a securely fenced yard and is cautious about homes with small children or large dogs, we evaluate every application individually.

Open your heart and home to this affectionate, smart, and trusting puppy, and prepare for a lifetime of happy memories.

More about this rescue

The Hedgesville Hounds group was formed in 2003. We are a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of people who have several decades of combined experience.

Hedgesville Hounds exist everywhere. They are dogs of every breed - every size - every age - who by circumstance, ignorance, or cruelty and neglect, were put at risk. Sometimes they are cats, and even rabbits.

Our effort has been quite simple - to give these animals a voice. And a little help with arrangements. And then let these wonderful creatures do the rest.

We are an all foster care organizations. These animals are in homes being loved and nurtured until their adoptive family finds them to take them to their forever home. Only rarely, when special circumstances arise, do we board or kennel our animals. We want to set our adopters and our animals up for success and we feel foster care is the best way to achieve that.
