My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Selena!

Selena is a sweet, easygoing kitty who’s just about a year old. She has a gentle personality and a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. Selena adores children and would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a friendly, loving companion.

Selena would thrive in a home without dogs—she prefers her peace and isn’t a fan of pup energy. She has lived around other cats before and could settle into a home with feline friends as long as introductions are slow and gentle.

If you’re searching for a laid-back, affectionate cat who will fit right into your home, Selena might be the perfect match! 🐾💛

Selena is spayed, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, and up to date on vaccines.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
