My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He might be a little Rusty, but he’s got a whole lotta drive! Meet our newest senior with an iron will and a grateful heart. Rusty was rescued by Karnes County Humane Organization at nine years old, and while we don’t know a lot about his history, we are eager to oil up his engine and make him feel brand new.

Rusty is powered by equal parts stubbornness and old-man wisdom. He may take twice as long to get up from a nap, but once he’s upright, he will sniff out any treat in the vicinity. As a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a few years under his belt, he has selective hearing and a desire for adventure. He might even be a snuggly dog underneath his aloof exterior–he just needs a little time to learn the ins and outs of being loved again.

If you are in the market for a creaky companion who is compact, vintage, and convinced the world revolves around him–Rusty’s your guy. Apply to meet him today!

More about this rescue

SNIPSA is an organization formed by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted animals in San Antonio and the surrounding area. SNIPSA does not have a standing shelter and depends on a core of volunteers to foster and rehabilitate animals in their homes. This provides us with the opportunity to learn first hand about the animal’s needs and behavior in order to facilitate an appropriate adoption. SNIPSA was incorporated in 2005 and has re-homed more than 3000 animals.
