Grandma Betty is looking for a retirement home where she can be loved and spoiled! At 13 years old, this sweet senior deserves a cozy life.
Betty sleeps most of the day, curled into a tiny ball in one of our many dog beds. She can be picky with her food, but she seems to enjoy the Farmer's Dog food. She's good with the other dogs at our rescue, but she'll tell them off if they invade her space. Though she's only 6 pounds, Betty can be a bossy little bean when she wants to be!
Betty has some weakness in her hind end, but gets around well. She also has iris atrophy, which is likely just age-related and doesn't affect her vision. She's up-to-date on vaccines and recently had bloodwork. She could benefit from a dental, but our vets are hesitant to put her under anaesthesia due to her age and body condition.

Additional adoption info
We only arrange meet and greets with pre-approved applicants.
The vast majority of the dogs we take in and post on our social media will be available for adoption at some point, but not everyone is ready to be adopted right away. We first need to get all of our dogs seen by our vet, treat any health issues, and/or schedule any procedures they may need. Once the dog does not need anything else from us medically, we will post them for adoption!

Vintage Pet Rescue is a Rhode Island based 501c3 non-profit. We protect and advocate for homeless senior dogs in need by providing cage-free sanctuary living for all of our rescue's residents, helping unwanted seniors find love in their final years through our adoption program, and increasing public awareness and interest in saving senior pets.
VPR was founded by Kristen and Marc Peralta (who met at an animal shelter in 2013). Their mutual love for senior dogs is the driving force behind our organization where we are committed to rescuing vintage (senior) dogs from shelters and assisting owners who can no longer care for their senior pets.
Kristen, Marc, and their team of volunteers make sure these animals are provided with love, attention, and medical care for the last months or years of their lives. To date, VPR has saved the lives of over 1,000 dogs.
