Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Toffee is a sweet older gentleman who has lived through quite a few of his 9 lives already!
Toffee came to us as a tomcat that seems to have had a tough go of things in the outside world. Toffee has acclimated very well to indoor life, and we`re not sure he`d be happy ever going outside again! Toffee LOVES to hang out under his blankies where he can be comfy and warm, but he comes right out when someone calls his name. Toffee really, REALLY enjoys getting his chunky cheeks and his neck scratched!
Toffee is not a fan of dogs and other cats. Toffee would do best in a home that`s a little more on the quiet side, where he can be your #1 man!
Toffee has FIV. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV essentially weakens Toffee`s immune system and he is more susceptible to other illnesses. The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, are not an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections. Cats with FIV have the same average lifespan as any other cat, as long as they are kept safe indoors where they have little to no risk of contracting feline diseases like FeLV or URIs.
