WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

His gentle, friendly nature makes him an excellent match for families of all types, including those with children, other dogs, or even cats. Ketchup adapts easily to new friends and environments, and he would love a household that can offer him affection, stability, and daily enrichment. With his sweet personality and easygoing spirit, Ketchup is sure to become a cherished member of the family.
Personality: Ketchup is the sweetest mix of cuddly and playful. Hes full of love, always ready for snuggles, and happiest when hes right next to his person. He enjoys lounging on the couch just as much as he loves playing with his toys. Belly rubs are his absolute favorite. Catch is one of his favorite games, and hes incredibly affectionate and people-oriented, a true Velcro pup who adores attention.

Training: Ketchup has been a quick and eager learner in his foster home. He hasnt needed a crate and sleeps soundly through the night in his dog bed with no issues. He is currently practicing his leash skillswhile he already walks nicely, hes still building confidence and becoming more comfortable each day. Indoors, Ketchup reliably uses wee-wee pads, and hes making great progress as he transitions to doing all his business outside. Hes a smart pup who responds well to gentle guidance and is steadily improving in all areas of training.
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Ketchup were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
