Mello is a very talkative, loving boy with a personality as big as his voice! He may take a day or so to warm up, but once he does, he’s all in — following you from room to room as your loyal little shadow. He absolutely adores his people and thrives on companionship.
This silly guy believes everything is a toy. If it wasn’t made for cats, that just makes it more interesting! His playful curiosity keeps life entertaining, and he’s always ready to turn everyday objects into his next adventure.
Mello is extremely snuggly and has a special talent for slowly crawling up to settle right on your chest… or even your face if you’ll let him! That said, he does appreciate having his own space sometimes and enjoys lounging by the window, happily watching the world go by.
He’s been very friendly with babies and has done well around little ones. However, loud or sudden noises can startle him — especially when tiny humans turn into tiny “raptors,” as they sometimes do! Because of this, a calmer home environment would suit him best.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $150.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $350.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
