My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Post – Meet Baekdol

Meet Baekdol, a stunning ivory-colored Jindo mix with an incredibly friendly and loving personality

Baekdol is a 1–2 year old neutered male, currently weighing 17 kg with a shoulder height of 51 cm.

Rescue Story

Baekdol was found as a young dog living neglected in farmland. For over a year, dedicated volunteers cared for him, ensuring he was neutered, regularly walked, and looked after despite living outdoors. When his owner later attempted to dispose of him, Baekdol was rescued and brought into safety. He is now fully ready to find his forever home.

People-Friendly & Kid-Friendly

Baekdol is exceptionally social and affectionate. He happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, leans in for pets, and enjoys being touched. He is comfortable around children under 13 and shows gentle affection toward them.

He allows belly rubs easily, even from people he has just met, and can be picked up by wrapping an arm under his belly. Despite his past, Baekdol has always been exposed to people from a young age and is truly people-oriented.

Dog-Friendly

Baekdol gets along wonderfully with other dogs—both familiar and new. He approaches politely, enjoys playing, and adapts well to dogs of all sizes and energy levels. He is especially friendly toward larger dogs and plays well even with high-energy companions.

Even when small dogs provoke him, Baekdol does not growl or react aggressively.

Cats & Other Animals

Baekdol has been observed around cats and farm animals such as chickens and has shown no aggression. On walks, he may look at cats out of curiosity but follows his handler calmly when guided.

Energy Level

Baekdol has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and playtime, especially with dog friends, but settles down nicely afterward and rests calmly indoors.

Leash & Daily Life

He may pull a bit on leash but generally follows his handler well.

He does not resource guard food toward people or other dogs and rarely barks.

Baekdol is calm in a kennel and is mostly potty trained for outdoor elimination.

He is a bit nervous about getting into cars and prefers to be gently lifted inside.

Ideal Home

Baekdol would thrive in a loving home that can provide regular walks, companionship, and continued positive guidance. He would do well as an only dog or with other friendly dogs, and he can coexist with cats.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
