Meet Cleo!
We don’t know much about Cleo’s life before she showed up in early September at the city shelter, emaciated, dirty and following strangers around the streets of NYC. Was she a bodega cat? A pet somebody left behind? Whatever the case, she LOVES people and was clearly asking for help finding her forever home.
Cleo wasn’t doing well at the shelter. When she arrived at her foster home, weighing just 5 lbs, she was sad, stressed and refused to eat. She had to be fed tuna juice via a syringe for several days before she started eating on her own. Eventually she decided that a life of beef tartare and cashmere blanket naps might be worth living. Now she’s eating six meals a day and galloping for joy when a fresh one is served.
Cleo is honestly the most affectionate cat we’ve ever met. She chirps and nuzzles and cuddles up at night. She prefers to be a lap-cat but will also lie on the desk to provide work-from-home support. She is friendly towards her foster cat siblings despite their chilly demeanor. We haven’t seen her with dogs or children, but we’ve never seen her hiss. Cleo (short for Cleopatra) is a sweet, loving ginger princess who deserves the very best forever home. She can’t wait to climb onto your chest and shower you with beef-flavored kisses!
Estimated to be around 1-4yo. Vaccinated for FVRCP, rabies, FeLV / FIV negative, microchipped, and spayed.
To apply for Cleo, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue.
