My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nosa – The Graceful Egyptian Mau Princess, Sister to Simba!

Nosa is a gorgeous 9-month-old Egyptian Mau, sister to Simba — both born from a proud lineage that traces all the way back to the cats of the Pharaohs. Egyptian Maus are one of the world’s oldest natural breeds, revered in ancient Egypt and celebrated for their beauty, intelligence, and loyalty.

Like her brother, Nosa has the exotic spotted coat and mesmerizing green eyes that make this breed so special. She’s lively, playful, and full of curiosity — with a personality similar to a Bengal. She loves to explore her surroundings, chase toys, and show off her graceful agility.

Nosa also has a sweet, gentle side. Once she feels safe and loved, she enjoys affection and companionship. She would thrive in a home where she has space to play, time to bond, and people who will adore her for the special cat she is.

Nosa is healthy, vaccinated, and spayed — ready to start her new life!

If you’re looking for a cat with beauty, intelligence, and royal Egyptian roots, Nosa could be your perfect companion.

Contact us today to learn more about Nosa — and ask about her brother Simba, too!
Together or apart, these two young Maus are ready to bring ancient magic and modern love into your home.

All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate.  Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for.  Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label.

We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue.

Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application.   NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats.

Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicants and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten.
