Xena's Story

Meet Xena!
Xena is a beautiful 12-year-old black-and-white senior kitty who arrived at the shelter on 10/30/25. This sweet girl is as gentle as they come—affectionate, talkative, and always ready for a friendly conversation. Her calm, loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for quiet evenings, cozy naps, and warm laps.
As a mature cat, Xena would be an excellent candidate for our Senior-for-Senior program, offering the perfect match for someone looking for companionship without the energy of a young kitten. She’s hoping to spend her golden years in a peaceful home where she can receive plenty of love and give just as much in return.
Xena would adore finding a new home for the holidays—could it be with you?
Come meet this lovely girl! 🖤🤍🐾

More about this shelter

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter functions as an impoundment/adoption facility which temporarily houses lost, stray, unwanted or abandoned pets for the 24 municipalities in Gloucester County, until such time as they are reclaimed by their owner or adopted by a new family. The Shelter also provides a 24-hour emergency service for calls regarding animals that are sick, injured or posing an immediate threat to the public.

We have a very dedicated staff and volunteer core who work very hard to see that these homeless pets are given a second chance and placed in a proper homes. All animals are spayed/neutered at the time of their adoption and up to date on their age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm tested (for dogs) or feline combination tested (for cats) and microchipped.
