Hi, I'm Pegasus. I had a happy home for almost 9 years; Then, the unthinkable happened, and my owner had to go into assisted living with no plan for what would happen with me. After a stay at the Humane Society, Sheltering Hands took me in. Fortunately, I am now getting more and more comfortable each day. Once I got my courage up, I found out that by doing a variety of vocalizations (mews, chirps, blrrs, and meows), I could get my foster to feed me, pet me, throw a toy mouse for me to bat around, or give me a treat. At first, I was hesitant to get on the bed or the couch, but now I'm pretty comfortable doing that. I am a bit of a loner and need some quiet alone time each day. I am truly a "low maintenance" kitty - I demand very little attention, but I love to get head and butt scratches anytime you are willing to provide them. If you can give me a little time to adjust to my new home, I would love for you to be my forever person.
