Nixie is approximately 13 years old. We adopted her when she was about a year old in San Antonio, and she's the sweetest kitty. She traveled with us as we explored the U.S. in a travel trailer, and she's adapted wonderfully to dogs over the years. She has lived indoors her entire life, and she is declawed. As an older cat, she's not as playful as she used to be, but she's always ready to curl up in a lap and snuggle.
In the last few months, Nixie has started to defecate outside the litter box. We have changed the litter, provided a different box, changed her diet, and scrubbed and blocked off areas where she's pooped. She continues to poop outside her litterbox, and while we realize the next step is a veterinarian trip, that expense is not in the budget. We cannot continue to have her pooping in the house, as she has ruined several cushions, rugs, and blankets.
Nixie needs a new home where she can be properly cared for in her last years. The ideal home would be quiet and calm.
