Meet the Pet
***Arby is scheduled to attend our adoption event at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the Dec 20-21 weekend. At any time, an application for his adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com without any need to register or login. Questions about Arby and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.***
Arby and his two siblings, Addie and Asher, came to our rescue as stray pups at the very young age of 4 weeks old. They had been born under a building in the same mobile home subdivision where, due to owner irresponsibility, a number of other unwanted litters have also come. We're not sure how many puppies were originally in this litter as some were carted off by children whose parents allowed them to take the pups away from the mom. Efforts to put an end to the excessive breeding of dogs within this trailer park are being attempted but met with reluctance by the residents/owners and without any assistance from law enforcement.
When he first arrived, Arby appeared to be very sick. We discovered that he'd been bitten in his groin area, which led to a very bad infection that almost claimed his life. After receiving a lot of personal care from our staff, Arby made a full recovery and is now very healthy. Because he received so much personal attention during his illness, Arby quickly became extremely affectionate towards people. He has a much calmer personality that his siblings and loves to curl up in the arms of whoever he's with. Arby will make an excellent candidate for anyone looking to add much love into their life.
Prior to his adoption, Arby will have received all three of his first year "puppy" vaccines as well as her scheduled de-wormings and other such vet care. He'll need to receive his rabies vaccination after 12 weeks of age. Arby's adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. And, of course, Arby will require all of his basic training.
