History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Big Mama’s days of mamahood are behind her, so I call her HONEY! She is sweet as honey and has the same coloring. She came from Texas and I believe they use ‘honey’ as a term of endearment. We have to believe she was a good mama and maybe had feed her pups a long time….she has lots of sag that may or may not shrink.
She is potty trained (DOB Feb/2024) fixed, chipped, will be up to date on shots and medically cleared. I started fostering her recently and we have exposed her to people of all ages! She warms up to new people slowly and is somewhat hesitant with children. She doesn’t seem to have issues with other dogs. ‘Honey’ is a super mellow lover and is willing to please. At night and when leave the house she stays in her wire kennel without issue. She does like to lay on area rugs and dog beds. We do not have carpet and do not allow her to sit on furniture. She usually stays in the room with people, so be ready to be followed. We go on walks and ‘Honey’ is always walks on our left side. She is not a barker…she has a sweet whine. She doesn't beg and is not food motivated. ‘Honey’ is learning commands slowly and takes treats very gently.
