Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bounce!
Bounce is an approximately 5–6-year-old Miniature Schnauzer mix… or at least that’s our best guess! He was originally found as a stray by a kind family who gave him a safe place to land. They kept him for about six months and truly tried to make it work, but ultimately realized that Bounce’s energetic and assertive personality was a bit too much for their senior dog. Wanting what was best for everyone involved, they made the thoughtful decision to help Bounce find a home better suited to him.
True to his name, Bounce is bouncy, playful, and full of energy. He does have some nervous energy and can be a little wary of strangers at first, but with time, patience, and gentle effort, he comes around and shows his fun, engaging personality. He thrives best with people who understand that trust takes a moment to build and are willing to give him that space.
One very important thing to know about Bounce: he’s a professional door darter. If there’s an opportunity, he will take it — and yes, he’s led us on a couple of neighborhood chases. Thankfully it was all in good fun, but this is a dog who needs an attentive home with secure doors, leashes, and fencing, and people who stay on their toes.
While Bounce struggled living with a much older dog in his previous home, he has done well with the handful of dogs he’s interacted with here at the shelter. With proper introductions and management, he may do well with another dog, especially one that matches his energy and confidence.
Bounce is a lively little companion who will keep you active, entertained, and laughing. If you’re looking for a spirited dog with personality, potential, and a bit of mischievous charm, Bounce might just be your guy. 🐾

As with all animals adopted here, there is a contract that states if the adopter during any time of the animals life can no longer care for under any reason they have to be returned here, they cannot be sold traded or given away. We also offer a 14 day return policy so that if you get home and the animal doesn't work out for any reason you can return them to us and do an exchange for another dog or cat one time. If returned within those 14 days. The contract also states per Missouri Law the animal MUST be spayed or Neutered within 30 days of the adoption date depending on the age of the animal. We have been known to go and take animals back that have not been taken care of or if there is a breech of contract. We are always willing to take strays or animals that the owners can no longer care for. We take these animals by appointment and as space allows. To drop off animals to us we charge an intake fee of $30.00 which helps to provide vaccinations for our animals.
