Emery is a beautiful 2-year old female Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on December 6, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found her on State Route 26 in Washington County Ohio (exact location on SR26 unknown). Emery was wearing a collar, but there was neither an id tag nor a dog license tag on her collar .. And she was not microchipped.
This little beauty has a black wire-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with brown 'teddy bear' eyes, a long slender muzzle, and short floppy ears.
Emery was understandably frightened being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people that she did not realize were her new best friends. When we took these pictures of her on December 9th while she was in an outside kennel, Emery was visibly nervous .. But she always came running to the side of the kennel where the photographer was as though Emery wanted attention or to be comforted.
Emery weighs 47 lbs. She has sparse fur on her hind quarters/legs which is likely due to an allergy.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Emery was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody has called or came looking for this little sweetheart as of December 12th 2025.
