Ricky is a very calm, loving cat and he is happiest when in his human's lap. His owner is elderly and put him up for adoption because if she becomes disabled or dies, he will be euthanized at the West Virginia shelter. He is only 6 years old and should live quite a few years.
Nothing is known about his first year although it is thought he was with a family who moved and left him behind. He was first observed when he appeared with other stray cats in a local feeding area. One cold night he went for food but found none and went to the house of the woman he had seen putting out food. He pawed at the door; he hungry! As winter set in, the woman trapped him and took him to a foster home where he joined nine other cats.
The foster loved Ricky immediately and it was after covid when many pets were abandoned so she kept him. He is very well behaved and loves his toys, especially soft catnip toys and the laser pointer. A high perch is a favorite place to sit while he watches the birds and squirrels outside. (Grey kitty)
Sophie is a very loving, playful, lap cat. She had apparently been abandoned when she became pregnant. A kind lady found her on her porch, fed her, and prepared a shelter. The lady was very allergic and could not take her inside. A rescue picked up the cats and put them in foster care. The kittens were quickly adopted but the mother remained with the foster. The foster is elderly and needs to surrender Sophie because she feels Sophie will outlive her for quite a few years and deserves a long happy life. Sophie has lived with six other cats; they got along well in a four-room house with glass enclosed porch. Sophie's beautiful green eyes follow her human's every move. It is believed she would be good with children; however, she has only been with teenagers and adults. She likes interactive toys and enjoys high perches and tunnels on a cat tower. She also likes to sit in laps!
Adoption fee: $300, includes all shots, sterilized, dewormed, deflea, microchip
