My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Reese is a stunning 1.5-year-old, 72-lb all-black German Shepherd who’s ready for a fresh start with Dog Gone Seattle. She had been in the care of Tacoma Humane Society since August, but the shelter environment was rough on this sensitive girl. Reese is very intelligent and will thrive with an experienced owner, ideally someone familiar with German Shepherds or Malinois-type breeds. She’s not a fit for small children and can get overwhelmed in busy environments, so home with structure will help her feel secure.

Reese is heading into foster care with a skilled trainer who will help her continue building confidence, manners, and coping skills. With the right support, this gorgeous girl is ready to grow and shine.

Foster Update:  Reese is thriving in training. This beautiful shepherd girl is smart, engaging, and eager to please. She is crate trained, house trained, enjoys her treadmill time, and is always ready for a game of fetch or tug. Her leash manners have improved quickly, and she is doing very well with her commands. Reese would do best in a shepherd-savvy home. Her medium energy level makes her a great match for someone interested in fun activities like nose work or agility. She has not been assessed with children, but she is friendly with people and could live with a dog-savvy cat. We are not considering apartment homes for Reese.
