Meet Hazel

Hazel is a stunning 2-year-old Great Pyrenees currently at our Missoula, MT facility, and she’s ready to start her next chapter. She is vaccinated and will be spayed this week.

Hazel was surrendered after living with her female littermate—sometimes even the best dogs just need space to grow into themselves. Since arriving, Hazel has done very well in the kennel and gets along nicely with other dogs, showing that a change of environment was just what she needed.

She has previous experience as a livestock guardian dog, though she has a talent for scaling fences, so a home with secure fencing and someone committed to helping her learn boundaries will be essential. With guidance and consistency, Hazel has all the potential to thrive in the right LGD setting.

Hazel is very sweet, loving, and gentle, and she’s currently learning to walk on a leash. She’s a big, beautiful Pyrenees looking for a knowledgeable LGD home that will give her the structure, space, and love she deserves.

Apply today to meet Hazel at our Missoula, MT facility!

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
