This shy handsome man is Mikey! Mikey is a 4-year-old Schapso (Schnauzer/Lhasa Apso mix). He came to E.A.R.S. from a terrible hoarding situation. Mikey has made amazing progress since arriving at E.A.R.S. When Mikey first arrived, he was so scared. For a few months, Mikey wouldn’t let anyone near him. He spent a lot of time decompressing. However, with a lot of love, patience, time and understanding from all the volunteers, Mikey has really come out of his shell. He enjoys going for walks and exploring the paddock. And of course, he can’t say no to treats! He is still working through some things like sensitivity to noise, sudden movements and the dark. For these reasons, Mikey would do best in a quiet environment and being handled gently. Mikey would do best in a home with older kids. Mikey’s new family needs to understand that he will need love, patience, understanding and time while he adjusts to his new family.
