Hi, my name is Hattie and I’m a one-year-old Aussie mix! Even though I’m just a kid myself, I gave birth to six babies. Sadly, at that point my old humans decided they didn’t want me anymore. They dumped me and my two-day-old babies in a bucket and left us outside of the shelter. I was really scared, alone, and overwhelmed as a new mama.
I went from being abused and neglected to a foster home in Colorado filled with so much love. I’ve been able to nurse and care for my pups while my foster mom and dad take care of me. Now that my babies are getting ready to find their forever homes, I am too!
I would love a yard because I love being outside. I would also love humans who are patient and willing to help me learn the world, as I am still figuring things out. I enjoy an active family who will take me on lots of walks and adventures. I love all kids and other dogs, and I’m truly the sweetest girl with all the love to give.
A note to adopters: I do struggle with separation anxiety, but I do really well when I have other dogs at home. Because of this, I can only go to a home with other dogs, as their companionship helps me feel safe and secure. I’ll need a family who can be patient and willing to help me work through my separation anxiety — but I promise I’m worth it.
