My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear is a 6 year old fluffball that looks like a big Pomeranian! He is currently 45lbs but is overweight and should be closer to 35. He definitely is part Pomeranian and we guess that he also has some Samoyed, Chow or another larger Spitz breed. Bear spent his whole life in one home and was only given up to us because his dad went into hospice. Since his dad was declining for awhile before Bear came to us, he wasn't able to give him exercise or feed him properly which caused his weight gain. He is already losing weight since he has moved into one of our foster homes and been put on a diet. Bear is very laid back and friendly so he adjusted very quickly with us. He is having a lot of fun exploring his new environment and loves befriending our other dogs. We haven't had him around cats yet, but we think he would do fine with them (if you have a cat, we can make sure to test him before we schedule a meeting). Along with his diet, the extra activity is helping him shed those lbs! As he loses weight, he is getting more energy and more agile! Bear loves to play and go for walks. He does well on a leash and in the car! Bear also knows basic commands and is food motivated so he could learn new tricks easily. He is housebroken and will bark when he needs to go outside or if he hears someone at the door, but will happily greet them once they come inside. He has shown zero aggression with us and we think he would make a great family pet. Bear loves attention, but doesn't have any separation anxiety and can be left alone without any issues. We haven't crated him yet since he usually just goes to his dog bed to take a nap when we are gone. Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and just had a vet checkup. Other than his weight, he seems to be in good health. Additional adoption info

Go to our website to fill out an Adoption Application! We will review your app and, if your home is a good match for the pet, we well email you to set up a meeting with your family and current pets. If all goes well at the meeting, we offer a foster to adopt program where you can take home the pet you're interested in for up to two weeks to make sure he/she is a good fit for your home and is welcomed by your other current animals. We just ask that you leave the adoption fee as a deposit before taking your pet home. Any time within the two weeks, if you decide the pet is a perfect addition to your family, let us know and sign the Adoption Contract, we will hand over all vaccine paperwork, and the pet is yours! (If you decide the pet is not for you, the deposit will be returned in full)

Go meet their pets

Potential adopters must submit an application before setting up a private meeting with that specific animal. Once application is reviewed, we will email to make arrangements to set the date/time. We ask that the entire family and current pets are present. Meetings are held at the animals location or at your home. We also have adoption shows occasionally where you can come down and meet some of our adoptable pets. Please check our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dominoeffectanimalrescue to find out when our next show will be!

More about this rescue

Domino Effect Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non profit, no kill animal rescue located in Temecula Valley, California dedicated to saving the lives of animals in county shelters. By taking in some of these homeless animals, we hope to ease the overcrowding in shelters which leads to euthanasia. We provide care and love to all animals that enter our rescue as they await their loving, forever homes. Each animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and examined by a licensed veterinarian. Some animals require more medical care than the basics and we help them heal so that they can live healthy lives with their next family. We also work on basic obedience and socialization skills to help each pet develop desired behaviors for their future family.
