My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasmine is being fostered in Huntsville MO

Meet Jasmine – Your Future Best Friend and co-pilot!

Are you looking for a loving, playful companion who’s ready to fill your home with cuddles and joy? Meet Jasmine, a beautiful black tri, spayed female, around 2 years old and weighing 30 lbs. who is either a Mini American Shepherd or Mini Australian Shepherd.

Personality & Quirks

Jasmine is housebroken and adores her crate—it’s her safe space (she MUST have one in her forever home). She’s working on learning “sit” and is picking up more commands quickly. Jasmine walks well on a leash, though she’s still learning to navigate with other dogs walking next to her. She doesn’t pull, but she’s not always aware of her surroundings and may bump into her furry friends.

She’s a gentle soul and a little timid due to limited socialization. Loud noises, especially trains and motorcycles, can be overwhelming for her, so a quiet home away from busy streets and areas is a must. Jasmine is not a fan of squeaker toys, so she’d prefer a home without squeaker-obsessed pups; we think this is probably part of her noise sensitivity. Jasmine is shy and timid with strangers, often hiding behind her person for reassurance. She’s still working on socialization and is hesitant to take treats in new environments. She rides well in the car, though she prefers to sit facing the back seat.  She is the kind of dog that will bond quickly to her human for reassurance and will stick like glue or Velcro.

Jasmine's Ideal Home

Jasmine thrives in a calm, peaceful environment without chaos or loud children. She would love another playful, social dog to wrestle and chase around with. She’s good with cats and other dogs. She has not been kid tested, but we think because of their unpredictable noises and actions, a home with older gentle children would be best.

Favorite Activities

  • Cuddling, snuggling and affection from her human

  • Wrestling and playing chase with another dog

  • Zoomies and belly rubs

  • Following her person everywhere—even to the bathroom!

Jasmine's wants and needs:

  • A fenced yard is essential due to her being a bit timid and need for security

  • Another playful dog in the home is highly recommended

  • No loud kids or chaotic environments

  • No squeaker toys, please!

Grooming

She’s learning to enjoy brushing, but she’d much rather be loved on than groomed.

If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, just a bit timid, playful, and loyal companion into your life, Jasmine is looking for you. She’ll reward you with endless love, cuddles, and devotion. Could you be the one to give Jasmine the peaceful, loving home she deserves?

Jasmine is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
