Calling all hound lovers—this one’s for you! Meet Mallard, a 48 lb male Treeing Walker Coonhound with a classic hound personality and a voice to match. Yes, he’s got that hound bay for days, and he wears it proudly.

Mallard is sweet, curious, and very much a typical hound—always interested in what’s going on and ready to follow his nose. He does well with other dogs, but would prefer a home without feline companions.

If you appreciate the charm, curiosity, and unmistakable soundtrack that comes with hounds, Mallard could be your perfect match.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
