My name is Walker!

Walker is a beautiful black Great Dane who is looking for a very special home that understands big dogs with big needs.

Walker was recently surrendered after struggling to coexist with some of the other animals in his previous home. He is still a young dog and has plenty of growing and learning left to do, especially when it comes to basic training and manners. Walker can be uneasy on leash and truly does not realize just how large he is, which can make him a bit overwhelming at times without proper guidance.

Because of this, Walker is not a good fit for a home with cats or other small animals. He is also very selective with other male dogs and would do best either as the only pet or in a home with a compatible large female dog. Due to his size and lack of awareness of his own strength, homes with small children or elderly individuals would not be ideal.

True to his breed, Walker has a sweet and gentle disposition and forms strong bonds with his people. He will thrive in a home that can provide structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. While Great Dane experience is preferred, it is not required. What matters most is a commitment to training and an understanding that Great Danes are incredible dogs, but not the right fit for every household.

Walker is officially accepting adoption applications and is patiently waiting for the right home to help him grow into the confident, well-mannered companion he has the potential to be.
