Meet Patches (A563848), a dog who has been with us for almost a month now and somehow keeps getting better every single day. His time here has not dulled his spirit one bit. Patches is bursting with energy, curiosity, and personality, and he makes sure you know it the moment you meet him.
Patches is the kind of dog who keeps surprising you. He is like an onion, and every day we peel back another layer only to discover even more personality underneath. He is confident, opinionated, and very sure of himself, which makes him endlessly entertaining and also a dog who will need guidance to help him shine. With that big personality comes a headstrong streak, so Patches will benefit from a home committed to working on basic manners and leash skills. He already knows how to sit and is extremely treat motivated, which will make training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you.
Patches has been tested with female dogs and does well, but he plays rough and would thrive with a dog friend who can match his rowdy play style. He absolutely loves squeaky toys and would be thrilled to have a home stocked with them and people who enjoy an active, playful dog.
Because of his prey drive and adventurous spirit, Patches should not go to a home with cats. He can also jump low fences, so he will need a securely fenced yard, higher fencing, or a home committed to leash walks and safe supervision when outside. Safety first, zoomies second. If you are looking for a fun, bold, energetic dog with layers of personality and a whole lot of potential, Patches might just be your perfect match. He is ready for someone who can keep up with him, guide him, and love him for exactly who he is.
Patches is guesstimated to be 3 years old and weighs 54 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.
Ready to meet Patches? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find him in kennel D33. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
