My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Andy has been with us since he was just a few days old, and he’s more than ready for his next adventure. He’s the last of his litter still at the shelter, patiently hoping his family will come for him.

Andy is missing one eye, but it hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He’s a brave little guy with a mellow soul, a playful spark, and an endless supply of love and snuggles. He enjoys playtime just as much as curling up with his people and being close.

All Andy needs now is a family to come pick him up and show him what “home” feels like. If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient companion with a big heart, Andy is your guy.

Our cat adoption fee is $110 and includes their spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can fill out our questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or you can stop by and meet our adoptable animals Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We have a short questionnaire that can be filled out before or during the meet and greet. We do not use the questionnaire to "approve".

2.

Interview

We utilize conversational adoption. This may happen during the meet and greet or via phone before a meet and greet.

3.

Meet the Pet

4.

Pay Fee

Our cat adoption fee is $110, $150 if you adopt a pair, and our dog adoption fee is $150.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

6.

Take the Pet Home

You can bring your own carrier or we can provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $5.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is meant to reduce barriers to adoption. We have a simple questionnaire that does not determine if the adopter is "approved" or "denied" and then we have a conversation about their lifestyle, home environment, and what they are looking for in a pet.

Go meet their pets

Come meet our cats and dogs Tuesday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm in our open-concept adoption space! Here, you can sit and spend time with our kitties in a relaxed environment to get to know each personality. We have a meet and greet room for our doggies, so you can spend time with them in a larger space or walk with them outside!
