My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Amox!

I’m a sweet, social kitten who loves attention from people almost as much as I love food! I’m very talented at hunting down extra food, and sometimes stealing from my siblings, but I’m most talented at stealing hearts. I purr every time I'm picked up or given pets, even when I’m at the vet. My foster moms say that one time I purred through an entire blood draw! When my foster mom works from home, I love to climb up to her lap to say hello, and she always knows it’s me by my loud purr. I have the manners of a gentleman and I'm ready for any occasion in my handsome tuxedo!

A note from the fosters: Amox has regressive feline leukemia (FeLV). Regressive FeLV is a type of dormant FeLV (a virus that weakens the immune system) that lives in the bone marrow. Regressive FeLV+ cats live just like any other cat with similar life expectancy. While unlikely, there is a small chance FeLV can be reactivated. As such, regressive FeLV+ cats should only live with other FeLV+ cats, FeLV-vaccinated cats (if you and your vet are comfortable with that), dogs and other non-cat animals.

Questions? Our team is here to provide all the information and support you need for adopting a regressive FeLV+ kitten.

While it's ideal for kittens to be adopted with a sibling or into a home with another companion animal (FeLV+ cat, FeLV-vaccinated adult cat, dog, or other animal), for Amox, it's NOT a requirement. Amox would love to be adopted with one of his FeLV-negative and FeLV-vaccinated siblings (Cerenia, Doxy, or Capstar), but he can also go home as a single cat.

Kittens need buddies! We require that kittens be adopted with a sibling or go to a home that already has another young companion animal. If you already have a young animal or another kitten in your home, great! If not, Amoxicillin will need to be adopted with one of their siblings (Cerenia, Doxycycline, or Capstar).

The adoption fee for a kitten is $250. For a pair, the adoption fee is $500.

Note: Kittens must be 10+ weeks old before they can go home.

Additional adoption info

If you’re thinking about adding a kitten or two to your family, a Bitty Kitty is a great choice! Kittens who have been bottlefed tend to be extra friendly and snuggly!

By adopting a kitten from the Bitty Kitty Brigade, you’ll be supporting our no-kill organization and making room for us to take in another orphan kitten.

All of our cats receive high-quality veterinary care and exams. Prior to adoption, all of our kittens are:

FeLV/FIV tested
spayed/neutered
treated for external and internal parasites
microchipped
FVRCP (distemper) vaccinated

Please allow 24-48 hours for a reply to an adoption inquiry.

More about this rescue

The Bitty Kitty Brigade is a foster-based rescue for orphaned neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, MN and surrounding areas.

Our mission is:
To provide care for orphaned neonatal kittens and to partner with animal rescue organizations and impound facilities to improve survival rates within the neonatal kitten population.

The Bitty Kitty Brigade provides care for kittens ages 0-6 weeks who are without mothers and not yet eating on their own. Once weaned, the kittens are either transferred to one of our partner no-kill organizations or transferred to another caregiver within our organization where they will be cared for until adoption age.
