My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emerald is a domestic medium hair black female who is approximately 2 years old.

Meet Emerald! Emerald is playful, curious, and affectionate on her own terms. She’s still settling in and getting used to being around her human friends, but she enjoys interactive play and attention once she feels comfortable.

Her favorite toys are springs, but she also enjoys fuzzy balls, mice, wand toys, and is learning to chase the laser pointer. She loves watching cat TV and has started exploring the view from the window.

She adores pets from head to tail, with her absolute favourite being a scritch on the side of her neck, she leans right into those! She’s fine with paw rubs but prefers to keep her tummy off-limits. Emerald also loves being brushed, showing off her shiny, soft fur.

Treats are a highlight of her day, she enjoys temptations and tube treats (squished onto a plate is her preference). She doesn’t like being picked up or cuddled on laps, but her soft purr and gentle meow show her sweet, playful nature.

Emerald would likely do well in a home with a cat or dog friend with a proper slow introduction.

Emerald is spayed, microchipped, on parasite prevention, and vaccinated with RCCP and rabies. She is FIV and FeLV negative. Her adoption fee is $300. To apply, please submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

Most of our cats live in foster homes. Some are available to meet at satellite locations such as Pet Valu and Ren's Depot. A few foster homes are available to meet and greets at their home, or we also do meet and greets at request at our shelter prior to adoption. Most of these results in same day adoptions, and only take place after an adoption interview.
