Meet One-Eye Jack! One-Eye Jack (or Jack, he doesn`t mind) was surrendered to us with a pretty nasty eye injury that had gone untreated for a few years. During his first few weeks here, he was anxious and standoffish and even seemed aggressive if you didn`t know him. He underwent surgery for his eye and was still unhappy in treatment. Loud and overwhelming places just aren`t Jack`s thing. Now, he resides in a quiet office like a king, where he is much happier.
Since he`s been allowed to settle in and show his true colors, we`ve learned a lot about him! His favorite treat is a freeze-dried minnow. He LOVES catnip. Jack is a huge fan of ear scratches and will rub on you for attention; he loves pets so much that he drools a little sometimes.
Another very important thing that we`ve learned about One-Eye Jack is that he does NOT like men. Women-only homes, please. Once he`s comfortable with his people, though, he only wants to be near them. He did previously live with three other cats, but because of his treatment he was not able to be kept with them. We believe he could coexist well with other chill, low-energy cats like himself if introduced slowly and patiently.
Jack is also a very smart kitty-- he has started to learn to `high five` for treats!
He may look a little unique and require a special home, but as soon as he`s all settled in, he`ll be the best cat you`ve ever had. If you think you have room in your home and heart for this special guy, he`s here waiting to meet you!
