Chandler is quite the charmer, loves his people and climbing up on your shoulder for a better view of the world. He is good with other dogs and cats. He lives with many cats and his dog friend, Phoebe. He loves the attention of his person, so would be okay as the only pet in the house. And no more than one or two other dogs about his size please!
He loves car rides and long walks at a fast pace. Once he is done with his walk he prefers to rest up for the next long walk. He is a good office dog! He does like to play with toys, mostly fetch. He does like playing in the yard, but doesn't want to be outside by himself, and always stays close by his human.
When he meets men, he might bark at them but then lets them pet him. He never barks at women or children. When he first meets you, he does not want you to pick him up but likes to roll around on your feet. After he gets to know you, picking him up is good.
He loves jumping up in the air and will let you catch him and hold him for a few minutes, longer if you let him perch on your shoulder. He loves laying in your lap on his back so he can get belly rubs. When he is done with your lap he jumps down and lays at your feet.
He is crate and house trained. The only issue - if you back him into an area where he feels cornered, he will growl and try to nip you as a warning. This has happened just once since he moved into his foster home. As long as whatever you want him to do is his idea all is good! But because of the possibility of nipping, it would be best if his home only has older children.
He is up to date on vaccines and is heart worm negative. He is ready to go and can move into his new home the same day as the home visit if all goes well.
