Licorice is one of those cats who quietly wins you over. At first, she’s a little unsure and likes to observe from a safe spot, but once she decides you’re trustworthy, she turns into the sweetest little shadow. She absolutely loves being pet and will lean her whole body into your hand as if she’s been waiting her whole life for that moment. When she’s comfortable, she’ll curl up on your lap without hesitation and often sleeps tucked right beside your leg at night or on top of you.
Licorice is adorable. People always comment on how pretty she is the moment they see her. She has the softest, gentlest personality - no sass, no attitude, just a genuinely sweet cat who wants to be loved. She also has a playful, slightly silly side once she opens up. She’s not demanding, just quietly affectionate in the loveliest way.
Licorice likes to be the only female cat in the house, but is good with other male cats. She is very bonded with her son, Hunter, and they bring out the best in each other. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who blossoms into a cuddle bug with a bit of patience and kindness, Licorice is a perfect match.

Interview
Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

Meet the Pet
When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

Sign Adoption Contract
Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.
5.
Take the Pet Home
Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.
Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
