😊 Once he is past being shy, he is so happy — he never stops smiling
🦮 Excellent leash manners
🐕 Great with other dogs (cats unknown)
👫 Loves playing with his human friends
🚗 Rides great in the car
👣 Follows you from room to room, but sometimes politely waits for an invitation
🛏️ Loves to hang out and snuggle with you in bed
🏠 Wonderful house manners — does mark inside sometimes, but corrects easily and wears a belly band like a champ
🛋️ Will whine for your attention and extra pets when you’re relaxing on the couch
🛁 Perfect gentleman during bath time
✂️ Will need regular grooming for his thick, warm coat
🏋️ Could stand to lose a couple pounds, but with his bright personality this shouldn’t be a problem!
🍗 Not very food motivated despite his extra weight and likes to graze
📦 May whine for a couple of minutes in his crate but then settles down and doesn’t make a peep the rest of the night. Also keeps his crate clean
❌ More often than not does not like being picked up and will growl or escalate to a bark. Once this is over, he’s right back to his happy, loving self!

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!
Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.

- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 11 AM-3 PM; Sunday 11 AM-1 PM.
