This pretty little girl is named Little Girl. She weighs 8lbs. and ended up at the shelter as a stray. The shelter estimated her age at about 3 years, but she acts younger and may actually be closer to 1-2 years.
Little Girl is a medium energy dog. She loves going outside and she walks well on leash. It’s best to keep a tight hold of her leash because she can get very excited when she sees a squirrel. She redirects easily though.
In spite of all that energy and excitement outside, this girl settles right down when it’s lap or TV time. She wants to be near her people and sitting on the sofa with her foster family. She sleeps quietly through the night in bed with her foster family. We would like this to continue for Little Girl in her forever home. She gets along great with her foster sibling and has started to show some signs of wanting to play with her. She would love to have a playmate around her size and energy level.
Little Girl is house trained, as long as she goes out several times a day. Although she is crate trained, she does not like going into her crate, yet she is usually quiet after the first few minutes. Her foster parents have been putting Little Girl in her crate when they need to leave for errands. She has the run of the house when they are home and supervising her. She rides well in a car safely tethered in so she doesn't try to get in your lap.
Little Girl sees herself as a watch dog. She will bark if she hears a noise outside. She will also bark at visitors but she gets wiggly and affectionate after she gets to know them. Her ideal family is one that wants a medium energy dog to take on neighborhood walks. A securely fenced yard would be great, but not needed if she can go on lots of leash walks. If there was another dog near her size and age who likes to play, Little Girl would love that. She is in an adult-only foster home. Due to her small size, she needs a home with adults or adults who have mature and respectful children.
If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect forever home for Little Girl, we’d love to find out more about you. Please complete our adoption application and we’ll see if you are Little Girl’s perfect match.
