Meet this very special little girl—a kitten whose spirit shines far brighter than her physical challenges.
This sweet kitten was likely born unable to walk. While her back legs don’t work the way other kittens’ do, she has learned how to get where she wants to go by confidently dragging herself and cruising along in her adorable wheelchair. She is curious, alert, and determined, proving every day that mobility looks different for everyone.
She is currently receiving physical therapy at the Veterinary Surgical Center, a treatment plan recommended by the University of Florida Veterinary Neurology Department. Her care team is dedicated to helping her build strength, maintain comfort, and achieve the best quality of life possible.
Because of her condition, she is also unable to eliminate her bladder on her own and will need a committed caregiver who is comfortable learning how to express her bladder regularly. While this sounds intimidating, many caregivers find it quickly becomes part of a simple daily routine—and Satchel’s Last Resort will ensure her future adopter is fully educated and supported.
This kitten may have special needs, but she also has an extraordinary heart and a will that inspires everyone who meets her. She is looking for a loving, patient home that understands that “disabled” does not mean broken—it simply means different.
At Satchel’s Last Resort, we believe every life has value, and this remarkable kitten is no exception. With the right home, she will continue to thrive, love deeply, and remind her people every day just how resilient and special she truly is.

More about this rescue
Satchel's Last Resort is a no-kill animal shelter/sanctuary whose mission is to Rescue, Rehab and Rehome dogs and cats with nowhere else to go because of breed, behavior or medical issues.
Each resident that comes to Satchel’s has its own unique and personal history. We get to know each one individually – favorite toy, favorite game, favorite foods. The dogs are housed in an airy shelter with spacious kennels, take three or four romps in the playard or walks per day, and even take car rides to let their fur flap in the wind. Cats are housed in two open cat room settings and receive social interaction with staff and volunteers every day. Most important to us -- we keep our dogs and cats safe from other residents and from humans who may want to harm them.
Trainers work with the dogs a few times a week to teach them that they can trust humans and other animals. Staff and volunteers work with our cats to keep them socialized or help them learn to trust again. We actively seek forever homes tailored to the needs of every individual pet so that they can live the rest of their lives among a family of their own.
At Satchel’s Last Resort, we believe that by harnessing the unconditional love that the dogs and cats in our sanctuary put forth everyday, the world becomes a brighter place for animals and people. Each and everyday we try to give a little of their love back – back to the pets and back to our community.
